Summary: The realization of equality before the law remains a crucial foundation in advancing Sustainable Development Goal No. 5, particularly in ensuring justice and dignity for single mothers who continue to face economic vulnerability, limited access to social protection systems, and persistent social stigma. Strengthening equal protection and opportunity is essential so that gender equality is not merely reflected in legal texts but implemented in real social structures and public policies. Personal experience as a law student raised by a single mother becomes a reflective entry point to highlight the gap between normative guarantees and social realities. Encouraging students and young intellectuals to take part in advocacy, awareness building, and community empowerment represents an important step toward transforming equality before the law into concrete action that supports women’s dignity and contributes to a more inclusive and just society.
