Wilkins Lake | Algonquin Park | Backcountry Canoe Camping with a Dog

Old bumpy roads end at a 4km (2.5mi) uphill portage that leads to lonely Wilkins Lake in the wilderness of Ontario, Canada. Brother Tom, myself and Smokey head to a lake we've been to before. We previously made a single night stop on our way to Vireo Lake, but at the time we didn't have the opportunity to properly check out it's beauty. This time around, staying two nights, we revisit the past by checking out where we camped before and rediscovering some old ruins on a bushwhack. From old bottles to remnants of a steel fire tower to a still standing outhouse, we found everything there was to find on Wilkins Lake. Eating WELL is always a priority for Tom on trips.
