Lkw Parkplatzmangel in Deutschland: Jede Nacht ein Risiko

The shortage of truck parking spaces in Germany is worsening – and at many rest areas, lives are at risk night after night. Here's why the situation is becoming increasingly dangerous for drivers. For many drivers, the stress begins in the evening on the highway: driving time ends, but a safe parking space is nowhere to be found. The lack of truck parking spaces on the highways forces many to park in risky areas or continue driving even though they are not allowed to. What this means in concrete terms is evident at rest areas: poor visibility, cramped spaces, and overcrowded areas. Safety for truck and car drivers at rest stops is thus becoming a real problem – for drivers and for everyone else traveling there. At the same time, a political solution remains elusive. The number of missing parking spaces has been known for years. But expansion is barely keeping pace, while traffic and pressure continue to increase. The driver shortage in the transport industry in Germany is also growing because many are no longer willing to accept the daily grind. Anyone who doesn't know where they can park safely every evening will think twice about this profession.
