Building Display Shoes for AFA Certification
Hank Chisholm, CJF visited the FPD FootPro Shop recently to help us put together some videos related to the American Farrier's Association's Certification program. Hank is the chairman of the AFA's Pre-Certification program. This clip shows one method of building a rocker toe modification, one of a number required for the Horseshoe Display practical test and a commonly used modification for many horses. Using a Kerckhaert Standard Max keg shoe, Hank knocks out the shoe and discusses the fit using one of the AFA templates. Visit www.americanfarriers.org to get more details on the requirements. You can also buy the "Certification Guidelines" booklet and templates on the AFA site at https://americanfarriers.org/.
