The Seven Sorrows Rosary (Dolorosary) w/ Digital Rosary & Sacred Art

The Seven Sorrows Rosary, also known as the Dolorosary or the Rosary of the Seven Dolors, takes us through a prayerful meditation of the below points in the lives of Mary and Jesus, or "swords of sorrow" that pierced Mary's heart. The First Sorrow: The Prophecy of Simeon (Lk 2:34-35) The Second Sorrow: The Flight Into Egypt (Mt 2:13-15) The Third Sorrow: The Loss of Jesus for Three Days (Lk 2:48-49) The Fourth Sorrow: Jesus & Mary Meet on the Way to Calvary (Lk 23:27-29) The Fifth Sorrow: Mary Standing Beneath the Cross (Jn 19:25-27) The Sixth Sorrow: Jesus Taken Down From the Cross (Jn 19:33-34,38) The Seventh Sorrow: The Burial of Jesus (Mt 27:59-61) Each sorrow is prayed with a scripture meditation, one Our Father, seven Hail Mary prayers, and a Most Merciful Mother prayer. This is a great way to learn how to pray the Seven Sorrows Rosary (dolorosary) or to reflect more deeply on each sorrow with the scripture verses and sacred art. The highlighted areas help you keep track of where you are in the dolorosary as well. The Seven Sorrows Rosary was originally passed on by St Bridget of Sweden in the 14th Century but has resurfaced as a popular devotion thanks to Our Lady of Kibeho who appeared in Rwanda in the 1980s. The Feast Day of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady is celebrated on Sept 15th each year. According to St Bridget, the following graces were promised to be granted by the Blessed Virgin Mary to all those who honor her daily by meditating on her tears and sorrows (dolors) and praying 7 Hail Marys - 1 for each of her 7 sorrows. (I plan to make a video for this shortened version as well) 1. “I will grant peace to their families.” 2. “They will be enlightened about the divine Mysteries.” 3. “I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work.” 4. “I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.” 5. “I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.” 6. “I will visibly help them at the moment of their death—they will see the face of their mother.” 7. “I have obtained this grace from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness, since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son will be their eternal consolation and joy.” Thank you to ‪@ineffabilisdeus‬ for creating a CC collection of rosary images.
