MGB Gearbox and Overdrive Oil Change

Maintenance that often gets overlooked includes most of the fluids besides the engine oil. Even when the fluid is changed, if you have an overdrive car it can be the source of some confusion. The gearbox and overdrive share the same fluid... so why are there multiple drain plugs? Where do I fill it? What kind of fluid goes in? Whether you have a Triumph TR3 or a Jaguar XKE, changing oil in a manual transmission is going to be very similar to this MGB. That is, of course, with the exception that a lot of manual transmissions don't have a dipstick to check the fluid level. In those cases, the fill plug is usually on the side of the gearbox, and you would simply add fluid until it starts to spill back out as it's being added in.
