Movie Palaces #91 - The Gaumont, Park Road and Dingle Road, Prince's Park, Liverpool. Opened in March 1937 by Gaumont/Denman on the site of the Picturedrome (opened 1912 with 770 seats). The architects of the Gaumont were W. E. Trent assisted by Daniel MacKay. The building closed as a cinema in September 1966. The theatre had 1503 seats. A small model D Wurlitzer 2/6 was installed. This was transferred from the Trocadero Cinema, Liverpool. Video presented by ComptonLodgeStudios, Sapcote, Leicester, UK.
