As the dry season draws to a close and the first storms hit the Central African capital, a historic power outage left the capital without water and electricity for 10 days. But for many, it made no difference. The company that provides running water to Bangui was founded in 1970, when it served some 100,000 people. Since then, the city has grown to 1.5 million people, very few of whom have daily access to running water.
