How do we know what we know?
How do we know what we know? And how do the tools we use influence our understanding of reality? From neuroscience to psychology, physics to data science: we get into the systems that construct our view of the world. Welcome to Episode 2 of Between the Lines. In this episode we explore the nature of knowledge and how our understanding of reality is constructed within different scientific fields. We start with a look at who we are and the "lenses" we use to observe the world. Having journeyed through the worlds of theoretical physics, data science, neuroscience, and psychology, we’ve come to realise that the different ‘buckets’ of knowledge we use, from natural science, to social science, and traditional wisdom, are far more interconnected than they appear. In this episode, we explore: Khodr’s experience in theoretical physics and his move into more practical scientific methods The shared foundations between natural and social sciences in their approach to knowledge A challenge to the mainstream view the the mind exists only in the brain Reclaiming the scientific validity of traditional wisdom and yogic science The role of personal agency in mental well-being through expanded awareness This is not just a discussion of theories, it is an exploration of how shifting our scope of awareness can fundamentally change our reality. By questioning the discrete categories we’ve built, like the separation of mind and body, we open the door to a deeper sense of personal agency. This is the foundation of The Gap Junction; a space where different ways of knowing meet, challenge each other, and expand what’s possible.
