Con la beca Promajoven mujeres indígenas tienen oportunidad de alfabetizarse

Women who fight against the current—that's how the young women of Nichnamtic in San Juan Chamula are described, women who aspire to improve their lives and the lives of their families. Like every Saturday for the past six months, Micaela, a 17-year-old Tsotsil woman, wakes up very early to do her household chores and also attend her literacy classes on time. Since the implementation of Promajoven, a monthly stipend of 850 pesos, women like Micaela have the opportunity to become literate and aspire to greater opportunities for development. It hasn't been easy; she, like many in her community, has had to overcome numerous obstacles.
