Flossmoor faces renewed flooding woes as federal funding remains on hold
Fierce flooding Friday and Saturday once again soaked the south suburbs, and once again, downtown Flossmoor found itself under water. Basements flooded, cars were stranded and a viaduct was unusable for hours. "Especially after last weekend, you see why the need is so great. The EMS services that were delayed getting to help people where they needed it most on one side of the tracks or the other," Flossmoor Mayor Michelle Nelson said. This is not a new fight for Nelson or other residents.
