RWANDA TRUCK DRIVERS: UNSUNG HEROES!

The amount of bribes which they are forced to pay as well as time they spend while negotiating with traffic police officers along East Africa highways, remains a big challenge to Rwanda long distance truck drivers. Rwanda being a land locked uses land transport in exporting and importing goods. This therefore highlights the importance of truck owners and drivers in the country's economic development. These brave men work days, nights and weekends, and are often gone for a week at a time in order to deliver goods to stores and consumers on time. Not to mention they deal with the same driving struggles we all do day in and day out. Rwanda long distance truck drivers are grouped in an association called ACPLRWA which helps drivers in overcoming several challenges encountered in their profession.
