This workshop provided a practical, hands-on exploration of mapping and managing parcels using a sectional breakdown within the Public Land Survey System (PLSS)—the foundational land division system utilized throughout a significant portion of the United States. Participants will acquire the knowledge to interpret legal land descriptions, subdivide sections into aliquot parts (such as quarter-sections and sixteenths), and accurately construct parcels that adhere to township, range, and section data.
