Suicidal history of Poet Chandrabati is very pathetic. Chandrabati is the first female poet of Bengali literature. She wrote Malua, Doshsho Kenaramer Pala and Ramayana. According to Dr. Dinesh Chandra Sen, poet Chandrabati born around 1550 CE on the bank of Fulesshori river in the village of Patuyari under Maiskhapon Union of Sadar Upazila, Kishoreganj. Her father's name is Dij-Banshidas who was one of the writers of Manasha Mangal. Chandrabati’s life was very tragic. After being betrayed by her happened to be husband Jayananda, she decided not to get married again and rather devoted herself to writing Ramayana living inside the Shiva Temple. She lived her last breath living inside the Shiva Temple. The temple still exists in the village where she lived. On the fixed marriage day, she had learnt that Jayananda, whom she was promised to, had wedded another woman named Asmani. Chandrabati's heart had broken and she took her father’s permission to stay unmarried and dedicated her life to Lord Shiva. One day Jayananda had come to Chandabati realizing his mistake. But, Chandrabati didn't allow Jayananda. Then Jayananda suicides by sinking at Fulesshori river. After a few days of the incidents, Chandrabati also suicides by sinking at Fulesshori river.
