Plein Air Painting as Therapy in Difficult Times with Jessica Henry Gray
Hi Everyone! It's good to be back! I know it's been a few months, but I personally needed to take some time to refocus. The world it seems is spinning out of control. I am sure that wherever you are, you're feeling it too. With all the various calamities crying out for our attention, it's easy to get swept along in the flurry of emotions. In this video I left off all extra music, besides my intro video. I did this because I wanted the sound of nature to be the only extra sound in the video. I made sure to add a lot of useful painting information, too! This week I stepped outside of my normal video format for a little change. I wanted to talk about handling difficult times and the benefit of painting outdoors to help relieve stress. Full disclosure, I didn't want to paint this day. I was still feeling somewhat depressed. I knew that if I was feeling this way, others were too. From 30 years of painting, I understand the healing nature of painting but sometimes it takes a while for me to remember when life gets too much. Beginning this video, as I mentioned, I was reluctant, but as I went along I felt so much better. It was exactly the point I am trying to make in this video! Painting really does help. By the time I finished, I was completely at peace. I hope that you will give it a try, if you haven't already. Or pick up the pieces where you may have left off. Enjoy the calming effect of feeling the paint come off the end of the brush! No stress, leave it all at home.
