Newboys Band From Arlparra, singing in Alyawarre & English The Newboys Band is a family band of nine members, hailing from the Arlparra community of Utopia in the Northern Territory’s Barkly Region. Forming in 2019, The Newboys Band released their debut self-titled EP in 2022 and followed it up with the Cheater EP, both produced and recorded through the Barkly Regional Arts’ Winnanjjikari Music Centre. Their songs, sung in Alywarr and English, are written collaboratively by members Alvin Tracker, Anthony Jones and lead singer Matthew Mulladad with themes on Country, traveling and family. In their high-energy reggae rock full-band sound you can hear the influences of Saltwater Band and Letterstick Band. The Newboys Band have gotten crowds dancing at some of Central Australia’s most beloved festivals: Wide Open Spaces, One Frequency, Desert Harmony and the 20th Anniversary of Bush Bands Bash in Alice Springs.
