Explore Phitsanulok with Me! | Snakes, Markets, A Magical Boat?

In May 2026 I spent a few weeks exploring Phitsanulok, Thailand on my solo backpacking trip from Thailand to China. In this vlog I show you some cool and quirky things to do in Phitsanulok, which I think is a real hidden gem of Thailand, hardly any other foreigners come here! I show you some free/cheap and fun sights including the famous Saturday night market, a tour of the new golden temple and how to get some good luck from the cities legendary old boat! I start my day by visiting Wat Ratchaburana. I see the beautiful golden buddha (one of the most beautiful in thailand!), I get blessed by a monk (this was really special!) and crawl (very elegantly lol) underneath an old boat that according to Phitsanulok legend will bring you good luck. I then walk along the river, talk about my impressions of this less touristy part of thailand and why on this trip I want to visit more places off the beaten path for backpackers, and I see a snake! I get a bit scared of the stray dogs along the river as I have been told they can be unpredictable but after getting a lift on the back of a motorbike from a nice local man I then make it to Wat Chan Tawan Tok a beautiful new half built Golden Temple. I wander round here for a bit and then go over the river to the Saturday nigh market. I get very overstimulated and buy manny many things including edamame beans, sunglasses, a waffle, cookies, tofu, tea, juice and some pants! I also nearly buy an Adam sandler tshirt but decide against it. Thanks very much for watching!
