Based on combat experience with this system in 21st-century battlefields, the Military Technical Institute from Žarkovo has undertaken the latest modernization of all ten Strela-10M air defense missile systems in the Serbian Army. According to the project leader, the Military Technical Institute from Žarkovo, the newest MS1 modification of the Strela-10 is a self-propelled short-range air defense missile system. It represents an upgrade of the Soviet short-range air defense missile system 9K35M Strela-10M. It is intended for the immediate protection of units on the march and during combat operations, as well as for the defense of important facilities in the protected territory. Na sajmu naoružanja i vojne opreme Partner 2025 je bila prikazana poslednja modifikacija dobro poznatnog raketnog sistema PVO sovjetske proizovodnje Strela-10M koja se i danas uspešno koristi na bojištu u Ukrajini. Na osnovu iskustava borbene primene ovog sistema na bojištima 21.veka Vojno-tehnički institute iz Žarkova je pristupio najnovijoj modernizaciji svih deset raketnih sistema protivvazduhoplovne odbrane Strela-10M koliko ih ima u Vojsci Srbije. Kako navodi nosilac projekta modernizacije Vojnotehnički institut iz Žarkova Strela-10 najnovije modifikacije MS1 je samohodni raketni sistem za protivvazduhoplovna dejstva na malim daljinama. Predstavlja modernizaciju sovjetskog raketnog sistema bliske PVO 9K35M Strela-10M. Namenjen je za neposrednu zaštitu jedinica na maršu i pri borbenim dejstvima, kao i za odbranu važnijih objekata na branjenoj teritoriji.
