Similarities with Walpurgis in Germany and Kupalo in Slavic cultures that they are both known today by their Christianized names, but they are a continuation of pre-Christian folk traditions to do with fertility. Both have jumping over a bonfire, which is sung about in this song - done by couples or individuals as a fun ritual of purification. Originally Walpurgis and Kupalo would have been celebrations of a divine couple of Gods associated with nature and fertility - Freyr and Gerda in Germanic cultures and Yarilo and Lada in Slavic. Before the show there was a VIP meet and greet event which required a separate ticket. Faun is a German pagan folk band based near München in Bavaria, southern Germany, whose members are very talented and highly skilled musicians who play a variety of interesting instruments which are unusual up to now in the popular music scene. This includes the bagpipe, hurdy-gurdy, Swedish nyckelharpa, various flutes and stringed-instruments, a variety of percussion instruments, and a modern electronic component. Faun has also worked with Norwegian musicians Einar Selvik and Lindy Fay Hella of Wardruna, multi-instrumentalist Martin Seeberg from Denmark, Katja Moslehner, Rüdiger Maul and Margarethe Eible (Rairda) who has also performed with Poeta Magica. Former band member, the stunningly beautiful, highly talented vocalist and multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Fiona Frewert (née Rüggeberg) made music history by introducing the bagpipes into modern popular music.
