This style is also called "crochet cocoon". It’s a beginner friendly crochet project. This project took me four skeins, or cakes, of the Lion Brand Mandala cake yarn. I made mine extra large. Though this video is not a tutorial, I do take you step-by-step of how it came together for me. Sidenote: Lion Brand Yarn gave me a good laugh! I had three rolls and needed to order one more. When I looked at the label, I saw it was called "Ghidorah", Godzilla's 3-headed enemy! I wonder about their other color names now. Are all their colors named after Godzilla's enemies? Back to the story. My completed shrug was looking fantastic and it was ready for the final edging. This is were all hell broke loose. I goofed. I blundered. I made a mistake. My edging stitch was way too tight and created this unpleasant bowl effect that was rather disappointing. I had tried a new technique with slip stitching the edging first trip around, and my tension killed it (and not in a good way). So I decided it best to frog the edging and redo with a looser stitch. I'm so glad i took the time to fix it because now it drapes beautifully and I'm much more likely to wear it. If you enjoyed this video, please consider subscribing. Thanks for watching!
