Conversations with CAGT- Dr. Nancy Hertzog

Designing the Learning Environment to Challenge and Stimulate Young Children  High quality early learning experiences are critical for positive outcomes later in life. The early childhood educator has the powerful role of designing these early learning experiences to optimize the learning of each child. In this virtual conversation, the presenter will share many of her inspirations from her past nine visits to the pre-primary schools in Reggio Emilia Italy, where the environment is the “Third Teacher,” and children have more than “100 Languages” to express and display their ideas. Participants will also engage in thinking about their own classroom contexts and ways in which they can take roles as researcher, provocateur, and documenter of children’s learning experiences. Participants will be energized to create “distinguished” early childhood classrooms.
