This video begins an extensive step-by-step tutorial to learn how to measure and interpret data from a dual-channel analyzer such as Smaart or SATlive. This first video explains the card requirements and connections required to perform the two basic types of measurements: MEASUREMENTS OF ELECTRONIC AUDIO DEVICES. In this case, the system to be measured can be a mixing console, an equalizer, a processor, etc., or even all of these devices chained together. ACOUSTIC MEASUREMENTS WITH A MEASUREMENT MICROPHONE. In this case, the signal is reproduced through one or more speakers and captured with a measurement microphone. Therefore, the measured system can be simply a speaker or, more commonly, a mixer or system processor connected to a speaker system (main PA, front fill, out fill, rear fill, etc.). In any case, the dual-channel analyzer requires two signals: a reference signal that does not pass through the system, and a measurement signal, which is compared to the reference signal in magnitude (level) and phase (time).
