'Een klein foutje en je ligt vast' KNRM Hotspot Wadden

Enjoy the Wadden, but head out onto the water well-prepared. In this video, Brent, a volunteer at KNRM Vlieland, gives tips for navigating the Wadden area safely. He knows the waters around Vlieland and Terschelling like the back of his hand and shows where things often go wrong. Shallows, tides, and rapid weather changes are still often underestimated in the Wadden. Especially at the Vlielanderbalg and the Schuitengat, a small navigation error can be enough to run aground. Outside the buoyage, the water quickly becomes shallow. Even experienced water sports enthusiasts are regularly caught off guard by this. Every year, the KNRM responds hundreds of times to water sports enthusiasts who have run aground. Especially when the weather changes or the current increases, situations can quickly become unsafe. Our advice: stay within the buoyage, use up-to-date nautical charts, and prepare your trip well. Before departure, view the full interactive hotspot map and download the free KNRM Helpt app. There you will find handy checklists, VHF channels, and the nearest harbors. Do you need help? Report via VHF radio on channel 16 and use the emergency button in the app. View the full interactive hotspot map here (link to hotspot map page) https://www.knrm.nl/blog/tips/hotspot...
