The Windmills of Your Mind (Les Moulins de Mon Coeur) - Michel Legrand

My arrangement of "The Windmills of Your Mind" by the great French composer and pianist Michel Legrand. Originally featured in the movie "The Thomas Crown Affair," this piece is one of Legrand's best-known and most-loved compositions, standing alongside "I Will Wait For You" from "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg." This arrangement was created in homage to my first guitar maestro, Anatoly Shapiro, featuring a few of his signature approaches to motivic development. I began studying with Anatoly at the age of 7 and continued formally for about 15 years, still keeping in regular contact with him to this day. His influence on my playing cannot be overstated; it is far-reaching, including not just technique and expression but also my approach to composition, arranging, and my identity as a guitarist and artist. Thank you, maestro! Performed on a custom-made Stephen Kakos 2011 classical/flamenco hybrid guitar using standard tuning with a capo on the first fret.
