Because the lead stays on the bottom of the lake, you have a direct connection between the carp and your rod. The downside with running rigs is that if you’re fishing in rocks or weed, the lead can get trapped and it can be harder to land the fish. What I’m showing in this video is a running lead that is designed to only dump the lead when absolutely necessary. This makes it a universal running rig that can be used in any fishing situation.
