Is Disneyland's Pirates Really Better?

Pirates of the Caribbean is obviously one of Disney's most famous rides, which I think is clearly a result of its quality. It's atmospheric, packed with detail and is still ambitious in its scale, even today. However, between both versions of the ride in Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom, almost everyone has seemed to have agreed that the Disneyland version is better. The Magic Kingdom iteration is just seen as an inferior, watered-down version that was built quickly after guests demanded that the attraction come to the park, but I actually disagree. There's a lot of unique merit to the Magic Kingdom version of the ride that makes it stand out, even including effects and elements that I'm surprised its California counter-part hasn't incorporated because they're so interesting. So today, let's take an in-depth look at the similarities and differences between both rides and hopefully, you'll come out of this appreciating the Magic Kingdom version better than you did before.
