El Vivo, Sabinosa

The Live Dance consists of the dance of a single couple to the ternary rhythm of the drum, played by a woman (the "dance"), who at the same time sings hexasyllabic quatrains of varied themes. The object of the dance is the woman's continuous attempt to throw the man's hat, for which she tries to distract him by making different grimaces and gestures, fixing her hat or skirt, pretending to put on makeup or pull up her handles, leaning to one side and to the other, and so on. The man performs the same gestures until she achieves her goal, at which point the dance ends and another couple takes over.
