Thielman family Kugelis recipe 4 large Idaho potatoes peeled and grated- (40 ounces by weight) 6 ounce can evaporated milk 3 eggs (beaten) ½ of a large onion grated- (5 ounces by weight) Grate the onion and potatoes at the same time together and immediately stir into the milk and eggs. Separately: ½ pound bacon small dice ½ large onion grated (5 ounces by weight) ½ stick butter (2 ounces by weight) 1 Tb. Salt 1 tsp. pepper Sauté the bacon until crisp, then add the onion into the bacon and cook together thoroughly until onions are translucent. Turn off the heat and add the butter to melt. Add to the above potato mixture and place into an 8 inch by 8 inch greased pan and bake at 375 degrees for 1 ½ hours uncovered.
