LEGAL REASONING: THE STRUCTURE OF SUCCESS | Richard Corey | TEDxOcala
In this TEDx talk, attorney and entrepreneur Richard Corey uses the haunting story of a famous fictional character also named “Richard Cory” to launch a deeply personal journey from shattered dreams to rebuilding his life through structure, logic, and purpose. From sports injuries to a music industry pivot, and the creation of his own law practice, Richard reveals how “IRAC,” the analytical framework used by attorneys for complex problem solving became, a blueprint for reinvention and alignment. Through his story, Richard shows how anyone can transform fear into clarity and chaos into order, by reverse engineering your dreams into step-by-step workable plans. The talk ends with a challenge: don’t just wish for a better life… build it, one structured step at a time, until “I wish that I could be…” becomes “I am!” Richard P. Corey is an attorney, entrepreneur, producer, author, philanthropist, and speaker with a career spanning law, business, and media. Founder of a top litigation and corporate law firm in Fort Lauderdale, he has represented major corporations, public figures, and athletes nationwide, earning Super Lawyers Rising Star recognition since 2016. Beyond law, he has brokered multimillion-dollar deals in music, tech, and real estate, holds U.S. and international patents, and was a UCF Business Competition finalist. Featured in Entrepreneur, USA Today, and Success, he authored The Blueprint (2013) and will appear in the 2025 docuseries Legacy Makers. He also hosts Enterprise Unleashed and is active in philanthropy and community leadership. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
