In this video we break down every viral moment from UCC's flood crisis after heavy rainfall hit the university on June 19 2026. UCC's own Directorate of Public Affairs issued a safety advisory confirming flooding at Avenue Circle near the Science Roundabout, the Zenith Bank area, the rear of the Sandwich Lecture Theatre, Ayensu and parts of Sasakawa Road. Students were filmed bundling their belongings just to cross the flood near Zenith Bank close to Casford Hall, with the water clearly coming from the lecture bungalow area. One clip shows water shooting out like a mini waterfall or fountain — the pressure and volume were unreal. Students were seen queuing to cross the flood while a school shuttle sat stranded in the water. Near one of the hostels the water was moving with serious speed under a bridge. The flooded area looked more like a river cutting straight through campus. A wooden bridge leading to one part of the school was completely carried away by the flood, with students and even school children still attempting to cross. More students were filmed walking straight through the flood just to reach their hostels. The UCC roundabout was completely flooded, with security still on duty trying to manage the situation hours after the rain had eased — raising the question of just how bad it was at the peak of the downpour. Footage from while the rain was still falling shows cars struggling to pass through the roundabout. Even the UCC club house flooded, putting a stop to tennis for the day. One clip shows a motorbike riding straight through the flood while a student calmly bought food and walked through the water like it was normal. This is the full breakdown of UCC's flood chaos.
