This Army Day, on 15th January, we were delighted to introduce Major Vivek Jacob as our first speaker of the “Commando Talks” series. Major Vivek Jacob served in high-intensity conflict zones across India and abroad for ten years. He led a Special Forces Troop as part of the United Nations Peace Keeping Force in the UNMEE Mission in Africa. Mandated to execute Counter-Terrorist, SAD ‘Seek and Destroy’, Surveillance, Protection and Rescue missions, he operated across the entire spectrum of conflict. Maj Vivek has also founded CLAW Global. Team CLAW was founded with the aim to execute 'Operation Blue Freedom - Triple Elemental World Records' wherein a team of people with disabilities coming from across race, culture, nationality, religion, economic status and abilities are being trained by former Special Forces members and civilians, coming from across nationalities and skill sets, to create three new World Records across the three elements of Land, Air and Water by Mountaineering, SCUBA Diving and Sky Diving independently at key locations across the world. They hold the world record for the maximum number of people with disabilities to scale the world's highest battlefield- Siachen Glacier. They are now gearing up for the Water World Record in Nov - Dec 2022 at the Lakshadweep islands in India. In this talk, Maj Vivek shared his life story and the valuable lessons learnt from it.
