Battle Off Samar
Follow and Wishlist our game on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/36... Just 7 ships from Taffy 3 were attacked by surprise by the might of the Japanese Navy. Taffy 3 were under-gunned and under-armored for such a battle and as such this became one of the greatest last stands in Naval history. The force of the Imperial Japanese Navy was made out of 11 destroyers, 2 light cruisers, 6 heavy cruisers, 3 Battleships, and in the middle of them all was the biggest warship to ever grace the seas, the pride of the Imperial Navy, the Yamato. The Yamato alone was larger than all of the ships from Taffy 3 combined. In the words of Lieutenant Commander Robert Witcher Copeland “This will be a fight against overwhelming odds from which survival cannot be expected. We will do what damage we can."
