"Silence is not an option" | Conversations with Gabriela Montero

"Silence is not an option" features Venezuelan pianist, composer and political dissident Gabriela Montero. It was produced in January 2019 during her concerts in Switzerland with the Sinfonieorchester Basel conducted by Michal Nesterowicz. Through these conversations, Mrs. Montero talks about her childhood and education, her pivotal meeting with piano legend Martha Argerich, her compositions, the "chavista" corruption, the "Sistema" of youth orchestras in Venezuela, her relationship with José Antonio Abreu, Gustavo Dudamel or Claudio Abbado, the dramatic situation of Venezuela and her hopes for the future of her country.
