#12 Nick Ward’s Jelly Roll Trio at 2012 Keswick Jazz Festival : Until April 2011 Nick Ward, Britain’s finest classic jazz drummer, astonished everyone who discovered that he also held down a full-time job as a university librarian. (This feat was achieved by a combination of committing virtually all his annual leave to playing jazz and carefully planning his use of flexitime during weeks at work)! A full-time musician at last, Nick is now able to add to his many other achievements, the role of bandleader. The Jelly Roll Trio is his first venture into this field and his choice of sidemen has been impeccable.
