Rotten Sill Plate Rotten Band Joist | What Else?

Remodel EP: 28 I set out to build the new wall that will enclose the carport and eventually support the rebuilt roof trusses. Simple enough... until the house had other plans. The corner I needed to tie into was hiding years of damage beneath the surface. Rotten subfloor. A failing sill plate. Termite destruction. Carpenter ant damage. Mold. Water intrusion. The kind of problems every extreme remodel eventually uncovers. Instead of working on what I wanted to work on, I had to tear into parts of the house I wasn't planning to touch yet. That's the harsh reality of bringing neglected properties back from the brink: the project decides what's next. No glamour. No shortcuts. Just demolition, unexpected setbacks, and doing the job the right way so this house can finally have a solid foundation to build from. Welcome to the unfiltered grind of extreme home remodeling.
