U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Mission in Alaska | MH-60 SAR from Kodiak | MSFS24
Today we are flying a U.S. Coast Guard rescue mission in Alaska with the MH-60 helicopter in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This SAR mission starts from Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, Alaska, one of the most famous U.S. Coast Guard bases for search and rescue operations in some of the most remote and challenging environments in North America. From Kodiak, we take off in the MH-60 and head into the Alaskan wilderness for a land rescue mission. Alaska is one of the most dramatic places to fly in MSFS24: rugged mountains, cold coastal weather, remote terrain, forests, valleys, and unpredictable conditions. In this video, the goal is to fly a realistic helicopter rescue profile, reach the rescue area safely, operate the MH-60 in difficult terrain, and complete the mission. This is not a real Coast Guard operation and I am not a real pilot — just a professor learning to fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, exploring SAR missions, helicopter procedures, and realistic rescue scenarios. I’m just a casual flight simmer trying to learn, improve, and occasionally land without embarrassing myself too much. This channel is where I share my flight simulation hobby: airplanes, helicopters, missions, mistakes, learning curves, and the occasional decent landing. Tips, suggestions, and friendly corrections are always welcome: Teach the Prof. The nickname “Prof” comes from my real-life job. In this cockpit, though, I’m the one learning.
