How We're Keeping DEER Out of the GARDEN & LAND — Ep. 298

When we originally moved to this land, which was an old plant nursery, we benefitted from a ~15-acre deer fence. That deer fence, however, was in various states of disrepair. We got a quote for a new section of fence without knowing how much it would cost—and soon realized that we wouldn't be able to afford the whole fix all at once. Instead, we did our own repairs along the way and replaced sections of fence over the course of three years to protect the land and gardens from the overpopulation of deer in this area. We'll share with you some of the damage the deer have caused to the plants and the general ecosystem; why the deer are over carrying capacity in this region; some of the strategies we've been using to keep them out; and take you through our final fence, which encompasses over 22 acres.
