en Climbing Traunstein (1691 m) via the Hans Hernler Klettersteig – one of the most iconic peaks in Austria’s Salzkammergut region. This exposed via ferrata route climbs steeply above Lake Traunsee with ladders, ridges, and jaw-dropping views. We originally planned to continue across the summit ridge via the Traunsee Klettersteig (D), but it was closed due to a damaged fixed rope.
