Mr. Pharanwat Charoenbenphat, or as everyone calls him, Kru Fin, 36, from Chonburi Province, is currently an online bird trainer and opens a bird training school. Anyone who has birds at home but is unable to send them to school for training can take online courses, learn through video clips, and practice on their own. Kru Fin graduated with a degree in automotive engineering, but the turning point that led him to become a bird trainer It all started when my boyfriend bought me a bird, even though I was initially very afraid of birds. But that fear turned into interest, and I began seriously studying how to raise and train birds. What captivated me about bird training was the challenge, as it was unlike raising a dog or cat. Training birds is difficult, so I began researching from international websites, studying and experimenting, and gradually developing my skills. Previously, I had worked various jobs, from selling garlands when I was 7 or 8 years old, to being a chef's assistant in a kitchen, to being a telephone salesman. But I finally ended up training birds, partly because teenage life wasn't easy. At age 17, my father kicked me out of the house after a fight over my stepmother. I was forced to live alone in an empty rented room and support myself by working various jobs. My bird training starts with the most basic thing: "making the birds comfortable." I talk to them in a soft voice and gently offer them food, so they feel "humans are not a threat," and build their trust. This is repeated daily, without forcing, yelling, or rushing. Once the birds have gained trust, I then train them to follow commands. Parrots are the primary species that Teacher Finn trains because they have high IQs and are easy to learn. However, just like humans, each bird is unique. Some enjoy riding a bike, so he trains them to do that. If they don't, Teacher Finn won't force them, believing that training should be in line with the bird's happiness. Teacher Finn also explains that if a bird talks nonstop, don't think of it as a problem. In fact, it's a sign that the bird is happy. However, if the bird doesn't talk at all, it means that it isn't happy. Therefore, listening to the bird's voice is also a way to learn about its feelings.
