Colony 7 Arcade

Colony 7's gameplay combines elements of Space Invaders and Missile Command. Players must defend the space colony Colony 7 from waves of invading aliens known as the Jarvinians. Using the joystick, they move a targeting cursor across the sky and fire at enemy ships with two pulse cannons. An ionic shield provides temporary protection for the colony's structures, and bonus points are awarded for each building that remains intact at the end of an invasion wave. One of the game's notable innovations for its time was the ability to purchase additional weapons using bonus credits. Players can access a selection of more powerful weapons, each with a limited number of uses per game. The "Mega-Blaster" consumes the colony's ground-based fuel reserves to destroy everything within its blast radius, while the "Eradicator" can be activated once to instantly wipe out every alien currently on the screen.
