V/Line Passenger - The Ararat Line February 2017 - Trawalla, Beaufort, Ararat, Cardigan.
English - This section of line herre in Victoria is a shadow of it's former self. The track was the mainline west between Melbourne and Adelaide seeing numerous interstate freights, The Overland Passenger Train and local freights and passenger trains on a daily basis. These days all you will see is V/Line passenger Vlocitys that run to Ararat via Ballarat. That all changed after standardisation from 1995 when all traffic was re directed by Geelong and Cressy further south. The only signs of a busy line are now at Trawalla where you can the signal box in pretty poor condition that used to control a freight yard at that location. Even Ararat Station which used to be a busy hub has now been reduced to a couple of extra roads and a single head shunt for V/Line Ararat Vlocitys.
