Curt Gowdy State Park - Mountain Biking the Gold Trails!

Mountain biking in the Curt Gowdy State Park between Cheyenne and Laramie, WY was absolutely phenomenal. I would highly recommend it. The International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) rates this trail network as Epic and I would agree that it's pretty sweet! The designated Epic loop is about 24 miles which you can find on IMBA or Trailforks. This video specifically cover three newer trails that I feel are definitely worth riding. The trail crew put in some new trails a few years back called Gold Standard, Gold Watch, and Gold Rush, essentially the Gold trails. Gold standard is a BLUE rated trail and the other two are BLACK rated trails. Gold Standard is about 0.9 miles long, Gold Watch about 0.4 miles long and Gold Rush is about 1.1 miles long. Links are below if you want to skip ahead. I'm not really sure which one I liked the best as they were all great rides as you'll see but the videos never do it justice! Each trail involves some technical challenges with some rollable or hackable drops but totally doable. There's some exposure when you roll up on top of rocks but it sure was fun! You can use the Stone Temple Circuit trail to loop back up to the top of each one if you want to session them. I only did a pre-ride on each one due to some weather moving in but it sure was fun. Gold Standard: 00:58 Gold Watch: 07:25 Gold Rush: 12:08 I did some other trails there as well such as the BLACK rated trail Mo Rocka which was a lot of fun as well but seemed to be more challenging than the Gold trails, to me anyhow. I'll probably come up with an edited video of that as well as my rides at my next stop in Steamboat Springs. I hope you enjoy riding along.
