Getting bike lanes built quickly and cheaply

Building bike lanes these days can sometimes seem impossible. With endless political wrangling, public consultations, NIMBY obstructionism and slow-as-molasses bureaucratic processes, it can take forever to get a simple bike lane built. But rather than wallow in what we can't do, I thought I'd highlight a few examples from Vancouver of bike lanes that were built quickly and more affordably through a process sometimes called "rapid implementation."
