From Bicycles to the Roof of Africa | Cycling Across Africa & Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro.

In 2004, my 17-year-old son Josh and I were on an incredible cycling adventure through Africa. But eventually, we decided to take a break from our bicycles and attempt something even more challenging—the ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Roof of Africa. Standing at 5,895 metres, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa. What began as a cycling adventure suddenly became a demanding climb through changing landscapes, freezing temperatures, exhaustion and altitude. For a father and son, this was more than simply climbing a mountain. It was an unforgettable challenge that tested our determination and created memories that have stayed with us for more than 20 years. Join us as we leave our bicycles behind and attempt to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
