They Crammed 6,000 Cars Into the Iowa State Fairgrounds! 🤯

The 35th Annual Goodguys Heartland Nationals at the Iowa State Fairgrounds is officially in FULL SWING! After giving you a sneak peek with our Thursday setup video and Friday’s early look, we are back for the main event. With over 6,000 classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, and custom trucks packing the Des Moines fairgrounds, this is easily the ultimate 4th of July car party in America. This year is incredibly special for me personally—I hauled my Corvair van all the way up from Texas just so I could cruise it around the historic fairgrounds for the very first time! Even though I've driven up to Iowa a dozen times for automotive photoshoots back in the day, I have never actually brought the van to Goodguys Des Moines to join in on the action. Getting to finally cruise it down the fairgrounds lanes among thousands of other classic builds was an absolute bucket-list moment. Because the 4th of July fell on a Saturday this weekend and so many people had Friday off, the turnout this year is absolutely massive. In this video, we hit the ground running to bring you the best car culture content from the entire weekend. We’re covering everything from high-octane Goodguys AutoCross racing and tire-shredding burnouts to the massive automotive swap meet and endless all-day cruising.
