Thompson M1A1 & M1928 - Blank Fire Demo
The Thompson submachine gun was developed during the interwar-era as a compact automatic weapon firing a .45 pistol cartridge. The expensive early models were famously used by American gangsters. Simplified models were adopted for military use and saw widespread service during the Second World War. This video shows the M1928A1 that was used at the beginning of the war and the cheaper M1A1 'G.I. model' that supplanted it later in the war. Includes a bonus clip of the M1911A1 pistol at the end. This fired the same .45 cartridge as the Thompsons. This demonstration was performed in a safe environment by licensed re-enactors. The weapons are permanently adapted for blank firing. Performed by re-enactors of the Triple-A Living History Group in the village of Son during the 79th anniversary of Operation Market Garden in 2023. MAIN CHANNEL: / @digitalbattlefieldtours
