SBC Waste Solutions Mack LR Integrated Heil Odyssey Curotto Can Garbage Truck

Watch in 2160p60 At first glance this may look like your typical Heil Odyssey front loader, but take a closer look and you will realize that this is none other than Heil’s short lived Integrated Odyssey Curotto Can design. To my knowledge, only a handful of demos were built before Heil ultimately did away with the design making this one of, if not the only one in operation by an actual company. Last June SBC bought this to be added to their growing lineup of trucks, and so far it’s had its pros and cons. The hydraulics are set at a pretty good speed, making this one of SBC’s faster residential trucks for sure. Being that it’s a sit down, solid door configuration it makes heavy routes with extras a bit more of a hassle. The biggest downside I see is that it can’t be put on any commercial routes because there’s no forks, and if the Curotto ever needs to be replaced they will have to either replicate this design, or retrofit the fork and hydraulic system with the standard Odyssey forks.
