Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4x4 Review: The Budget SUV with a Genius 4x4 System!
The new Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4x4 is one of the most interesting hybrid SUVs on the market, combining petrol, LPG, mild-hybrid technology and electric all-wheel drive in one unique system. In this review, I take a closer look at the new Duster Hybrid-G 150 4x4, its design, interior, technology, driving experience, off-road capability, practicality and all the important technical details. Under the bonnet, the Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4x4 uses a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology, producing 140 hp / 103 kW on the front axle. At the rear, there is an electric motor with up to 31 hp / 23 kW, giving the car electric 4x4 capability. The total system output is 154 hp / 113 kW, with 230 Nm from the combustion engine and up to 87 Nm from the rear electric motor. The petrol/LPG engine is connected to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, while the rear electric motor uses an innovative 2-speed gearbox with a disengageable clutch. This allows the Duster to drive in 4x2 mode for better efficiency, or use the rear electric motor when extra traction is needed. The Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4x4 also comes with a 0.84 kWh 48V lithium-ion battery, which recharges automatically through regenerative braking. In city driving, Dacia says the car can drive up to 60% of the time in electric mode. Thanks to two separate 50-litre tanks — one for petrol and one for LPG — the Duster Hybrid-G 150 4x4 can offer a total WLTP range of up to 1,500 km.
