. Correction and apology. The correct Japanese word for "decreasing" is "berkurang" in Indonesian. Display time: 20:49. I apologize and will correct this. Thank you for pointing out the mistake. Also, "masa dapan" was "future" at 23:39... sorry... This video was created by a beginner Indonesian learner for my own listening practice, so there may be some mistakes. If you notice any, please let me know in the comments! Indonesian is one of the easiest languages in the world to learn. The vocabulary required for everyday conversation in Indonesian is 600 words. For comparison, English requires 3,000 words, German requires 5,000 words, and Japanese requires 10,000 words. The total vocabulary is also small, at 120,000 words. English and Japanese each have well over 500,000 words. Although it's easy to remember, it's filled with completely unfamiliar words, making it extremely difficult for me to memorize 600 words. So, to utilize my time, especially while traveling, I decided to create my own listening videos for self-study. Being able to memorize words simply by repeatedly listening to them in my spare time is very efficient. I plan to create videos covering 600-1,000 words in the future. (As of January 2025, I have four videos totaling approximately 640 words.) There are several videos on YouTube that I use to study Indonesian. However, I couldn't find a vocabulary listening video that suited me, so I decided to make my own. While the videos made by my predecessors are really good, they're a little different from what I'm looking for. This video has the following features: Vocabulary that beginners first learn is omitted (greetings, numbers, etc.) Words that are thought to be used less frequently or long and difficult to remember are omitted or postponed. Words that are the same or not very different from English are often omitted. There's a common belief that prioritizing vocabulary is a mistake when learning a foreign language, but Indonesian seems to be an exception. As long as you memorize the words, you can communicate your intent with confidence! So, aim to learn 600 words first. However, no matter how many words you memorize, you won't be able to understand what the other person is saying. That's a whole other level of difficulty. Listening requires separate study, such as through videos of native speakers. For reference, here are the YouTube videos I watch over and over again to study Indonesian. I've easily watched Japanesia's videos over 1,000 times. They're incredibly educational and highly recommended! / @japanesiachannel Since Chikara is a native speaker, you can learn slang and usage not found in textbooks! https://www.youtube.com/@ChillIndones... More and more people are moving to Southeast Asia, but unfortunately, very few choose Indonesia as an option. I think the reason is that the country's good points are not well known. Popularity is concentrated in countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Indonesia is an overwhelmingly pro-Japanese country, has low prices, and its food tastes closest to Japanese food in Southeast Asia. I think it should be more highly rated as a tourist destination or a place to relocate. Bali is fairly popular for its marine sports, but in recent years it has become too much of a tourist destination, and prices have risen to a level you wouldn't expect in Southeast Asia. It's not a good idea to move there just for the low prices... Everyone, on your next overseas trip, why not visit Indonesia? #Southeast Asia #MigrationToSoutheastAsia #SoutheastAsia #ASEAN #Bandung #Indonesia #Sudirmanstreet #Burago #Bandung #Jakarta #Bari #GreatMosque #Indonesia #Bali #Jakarta #nasigoreng #miegoreng #ayam #sate #foodmarket #nasigoreng #miegoreng #chicken #skewers #streetfood #monas #Manggabesar #manggabesar #Soekarnohattaairport #pasarponcol #poncol #PongkolMarket #PasarSenen #durian #moneyexchange #currencyexchange #IndonesianLanguage #ForeignLanguage #Sleep #music #bahasajepang
