Dedicated with love to my dear friend Oren Hovav who passed away exactly one year ago today. Knowing that his life is coming to an end, he chose love and gratitude over self pity and sadness. Being thankful for the gift of life with deep a acceptance of his coming death he kept a smile on his face, consoling his family and loved ones while still being alive. It was a masterful way to go. A way that left a strong impact on many people around him including myself. He was my first music teacher, planting the seed of percussion in me when i was 10 years old and in the past 11 years has been involved in every single aspect of my life. Listening, advising and supporting. Inspired by the sounds of the synagogue and using parts of "Nishmat Kol Hai" - A traditional jewish text of praise more then a thousand years old, the piece tries to capture the power and depth of that movement from grief to gratitude.
